It acquired the Samuel Tuerk company in the year 1896 and renamed its name as Hunter Fan & Motor company. In the year 1920, the Hunter Fan company released its oscillating desk fans products. Later on, the company acquired the St. Louis, Missouri based Century Electric company in the year 1936 and started selling wide range of pedestal fan and exhaust fan products. It released its energy-efficient room air-conditioner products using rotary compression technology in the year 1986 and its sales were reached to approximately $25 million according to the detail of 1989.
