Muthuvel Karunanisdhi is an Indian politician and belongs to the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party. He was born on June 3, 1924 as Dakshinamurthy in Thirukuvalai,
Madras Presidency, British India. He has served five times as the
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. He started his career in the Tamil Film Industry as a screen writer. He also contributed to the Tamil literature in the form of poems, letters, novels, stage plays and movie songs. He is also the author of number of books and joined politics at the age of fourteen and was first elected in Tamil Nadu assembly from Kulithalai assembly in year 1957.
