Army Medical Center was an
Army Hospital located in Presidio, San Francisco, United States. It was established in the year 1898 and was named after Jonathan Letterman in year 1911. It was the largest army general hospital in year 1918 and also established
School of Nursing by year 1918. The hospital building was demolished in year 1960 and new ten-story building was erected in year 1969 with a capacity of more than 550-beds. The Medical specialists of Army were trained in the New Letterman Army Medical Center. The Medical center was closed in year 1995 and the base was transferred into National Park Service.
