Mahasweta Devi is an Indian social activist and author. She was born on January 14, 1926 in Dhaka, British India. She did her schooling from
Dhaka and after partition she moved to the West Bengal, India. She completed her Bachelors in English from the Vishvabharati University in Santiniketan. She finished Masters in English from the
Calcutta University. She started her teaching career in year 1964 at Bijoygarh College and also worked as creative writer and journalist. She is famous for writing novels, Short story, Essay and Drama. Her notable works include Hajar Churashir
Maa and Aranyer Adhikar.
