Athar Abbas is a former military spokesperson for the Pakistan Defence Forces. He was a two-star general. He served as the DG ISPR from January 2008 to June 2012. Before joining ISPRD, Major General Abbas served as the DG Quartering and Lands in Quartermaster General’s Branch. Major General Athar Abbas has been honored with Hilal-e-Imtiaz. .
