AFTRA (American Federation of Television and Radio Artists) was founded on August 16, 1937 as AFRA and became AFTRA on September 17, 1952. The federation represents performers with varied talents from TV and Radio sectors. The performers include actors, announcers and newspersons, singers, recording artists etc. AFTRA was dissolved on March 30, 2012. The company got merged with SAG-AFTRA and presents more than 1,65,000 performers from the entertainment industry including actors, announcers, broadcasters, journalists, dancers and many more.
