Akbaruddin Owaisi who was born on 14 June 1970 is an Indian politician. He was born in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh and belongs to All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin. He is the son of Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi who served as the Member of Parliament from Hyderabad for six consecutive terms. Akbaruddin was elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Chandrayangutta constituency for the first time in 1999. He became the floor leader of MIM (All India Majlis-e Ittihad al-Muslimin) in the Assembly in 2004.
