Ann Compton is a Chicago born Television news reporter in the US. She was born on January 19, 1947 and was the first woman reporting for WDBJ TV. Ann Compton was assigned as the White House correspondent in 1974 for ABC News Radio. She became the chief Washington correspondent for ABCNEWS.com in 2000 and was inducted into the Journalism Hall of Fame by the Society of Professional Journalists in the same year.
