Shri Janaki Ballav Patnaik was appointed as the Governor of Assam in the year 2009. He assumed his office on 11th December, 2009. Shri Janaki Ballav Patnaik was born on January 3, 1927 in Rameshwar, Puri district. He pursued his education from Utkal University and Banaras Hindu University. Shri Janaki Ballav Patnaik holds Bachelor's degree in Sanskrit and Master's degree in Political Science. Shri Janaki Ballav Patnaik also served as the CM of Odisha from 9 June 1980 – 7 December 1989.
