Mahmoud Abbas is a well known politician of Palestine. He was born on 26 March 1935 in Safed, British Palestine. On 15 January 2005, he became the President of the Palestinian National Authority. Mahmoud Abbas has also served as the President of the State of Palestine from 8 May 2005 – 23 November 2008 and Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization from 29 October 2004 – 11 November 2004. Mahmoud Abbas was also the Prime Minister of the Palestinian National Authority from 19 March 2003 – 6 September 2003. He received his education from Damascus University.
