Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah was the first prime minister of Malaysia. He was born on February 8, 1903 and died on December 6, 1990. He is popularly known as Tanku and is called the Father of Malaysia. Tanku Abdul Rahman was also the chief minister of federation of Malaysia. He founded the Islamic Welfare Organisation (PERKIM), to help Muslim converts. Tunku was a Lawyer by profession.
