William Joseph Bell was an American TV producer and writer. He was born on March 6, 1927 in Chicago, Illinois and died at the age of 78 on April 29, 2005 in Los Angeles, California. William Joseph Bell is notable for the creation of the soap operas Another World, The Young and the Restless and The Bold and the Beautiful. William Bell started his career as a comedy writer at WBBM-TV in Chicago in the early 1960's. He became the head writer of the soap Days of our Lives in 1966 until 1975. William Bell created his first own show in 1972 named The Young and the Restless. He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions in 1992.
