Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences - Solapur was established in the year 1981 for launching Master in Business Administration (M B A) This was followed by Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (P.G.D.B.M.) and Master of Social Work (M.S.W.) In the year 2001-02, Master of Computer Application (M.C.A.) and Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications courses have been started. The institute has added under graduate courses BBA and BCA from the year 2005-06. All these courses are now in the ambit of Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Pune which has got ‘A’ grade by NAAC.

Each faculty member of our institute is highly qualified and experienced professional and is admired not only by the students but by the members in the society as well. The Research and Consultancy activities have been integrated with teaching and learning programmes of Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences - Solapur. The students have to undertake a course in Research Methodology, seek assignment with industry during summer and to work on some problem or issue leading to a management action or IT solution. The teachers guide the students in this respect. The students in IT are required to get actively involved in industry based software development, system administration and e-business solutions. The reports and -10- monograms generated by students and faculty are the important source of new knowledge, ideas and renewed understanding in the areas of Management and Information Technology. The faculty is involved in curriculum development, courseware development, systems and case studies etc.

The institute has a separate Computer Lab with 120 seating capacity. There are 60 PIV computers for MBA section with 4 servers.

Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences - Solapur has both indoor and outdoor sports facilities. The students are selected for various sports categories through a well defined procedure. Every year an intercollegiate sport meet is organized for various sports categories for the constituents units of Bharati Vidyapeeth. The University teams are subsequently selected based on the performance at the intercollegiate level. Students of IMED were selected for representing the University for Various Report Categories like Cricket, football, bad mention, Table Tennis.
Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences - Solapur has its own Industry - Institution Interaction cell, Personality Development Club, Management Forum, Community Liaison Cell. The institute arranges various programmes like Guest Lectures Quizzes, Games, Debates, Intercollegiate Competitions and Cultural programmes. The new entrants to various programmes are included the following activities like counseling, seminars, orientation, visits, interactive discussions, foundation courses for Accountancy and Mathematics.
Abhijit Kadam Institute of Management and Social Sciences - Solapur hostel is a home away from home. Set in ample open space it provides a conducive learning environment for about 100 inmates from different parts of the country. The library is the focal point of the institute and is well stocked with nearly 11,000 books and 65 national and international journals and Magazines related to the fields of Management, Computers and Humanities.
