Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore was established in the year 1997 in T.A.Ramalingam Chettiar Higher Secondary School campus in Saibaba Colony and it was shifted to the present spacious and serene campus in May 1999. All essential facilities are available here including vast playgrounds. The Angappa Educational Trust, Coimbatore was founded in the year 1975 by our founder secretary Thiru T.V. Angappan, B.Com., Eminent industrialist and educationalist of Coimbatore. The trust is engaged in selfless service in the social and educational spheres.
Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore founder comes of an illustrious family of educationists viz T.A.Ramalingam Chettiar and T.S.Avinashilingam Chettiar. He is a simple and easily-accessible philanthropist. He runs an old age home in Mettupalayam for the aged men and women, and an orphanage for young children. He has ambitious plans for the development of the institutions, particularly Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore . He believes that the real service to people is only to give the light of education to all. The trust ably managed by him, was born out of this conception and the institutions instill discipline and academic proficiency in the young boys and girls.
Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore is located on the Pollachi main road near the Seerapalayam village, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. It is surrounded by farms and coconut groves and is away from the noise and pollution of the city. It is an ideal place for the students to pursue quiet academic works .roads are being developed and trees are being planted in the campus. It is hoped that in a few years, it will emerge as an exclusive centre of academic excellence, on the model of residential institutions.
Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore has a full air-conditioned and modern computer laboratory for the postgraduate students and another UG computer lab for the undergraduate students. A separate electronics lab rotary has also been established. Students are Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore has fully air-conditioned Six Sophisticated computer labs with computers of latest configuration. Computer Centre is well equipped with state-of-the-art technology. A centralized Computer Centre with networking of nodes connected through LOCAL AREA NETWORK ( LAN ), NETWORK ( NT ), UNIX with structured cabling with switches and distributed computer facilities in different offices for effective administration.
Angappa College of Arts and Science – Coimbatore placement cell focuses training individual students in aptitude/ group discussion/ career counselling to budding professionals. Our placement cell has secured jobs for nearly 50 students in various leading IT companies like, IBM, TCS, WIPRO, HCL, ACCENTURE, SLASH SUPPORT and KGISL & OTHER MNC'S.
