Founded in the year 1959 with only 38 students on its rolls, Arya Girls College – Ambala saw its beginning in the precincts of the Arya Samaj Temple, Dayanand Marg. Ambala Cantt. The sapling was, with the passage of time, transplanted to the present campus which can boast of very rightly to be the ideal place for girls education both in terms of what swami Dayanand Saraswati wanted an educational institution to be and what the present education system expects it to be.

Arya Girls College – Ambala Library is the nerve centre of knowledge and is virtually the heart of academic institution. All students have direct access to books under ‘open system’. To inform, inspire and develop its users intellectually, the library maintains following type of collections: General Books, Reference Books, Book Bank, Standard Text Books, Books for Competitive examinations, Encyclopedia. Facility of ‘Book Bank’ helps the needy and meritorious students. We have 45,000 books in the Library.
