Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur was Sponsored in July 2001 by K.Nadimuthu Memorial Educational Trust is registered under the Indian Trust Act and established by an Educationist Shri.N.Ganesan M.Com., M.Phil., (Ph.D.,). It is sister Institution of Indian Institute of Catering Technology and Hotel Management, Thanjavur a leading and first institution of its kind since1993 in Thanjavur and Southern part of Tamilnadu. Bharath Institute of Fashion Technology and Design, a unit of Bharath College of Science and Management, has been initiated with a Primary Object of providing education to the youths in the growing areas of fashion technology and costume design.
Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur has designed the course content at an affordable fee structure to meet out the growing needs for them in reputed garment making units and to make them self–employed. Bharath Institute Catering Technology and Hotel Management is a unit of Bharath College of Science and Management, started to meet out the great world wide demand for qualified and well trained hospitality professionals.
The main objectives of Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur to train persons in catering technology and Hotel management trade by providing self employment guidance and for employment in the field of Hotel and Tourism industries. Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur offers offers 14 UG, 11 PG, 1 Diploma, 4 Post Graduate Diploma and 4 M.Phil programmes in the new and emerging disciplines.
Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur is situated at Near New Bus Stand, Trichy Road, Thanjavur - Tamil Nadu. Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur functions in about 1,70000sq.ft.carpet area located in about 5 lac sq.ft. Department of Hotel management has a lab to train students regional, national and international cuisines cooking ranges individual work table and other equipment with 21 base training kitchen , 12 advance training kitchen,. Quantity training kitchen for 5 thousand pax. Two modern 3 deck electric baking oven trains the students in baking items, Two salamander, Two mobile Tandoori pot, Bread Slicer, dough Kneader, Egg Beater, cookie Kneader are the other equipments. Department of VC has photography studio with dark room, Digital animation studio(web designing), professional video cum audio studio and mini review theatre. Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur laboratory of Nutrition and Dietetics has been modernized with centralized gas line for 20 cooking ranges and new gadgets like microwave oven. The department of Biotechnology houses its lab in a 1320sq.ft spacious hall with modern equipments such as PCR thermal cycle, C-24 centrifuge, Spectronic-20,Gel documentation, the department trains its students in microbiological, immunological and electrophoretic techniques.
Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur well equipped computer science laboratory with centralized air-condition facility, 2 Xeon server, 100 HCL P IV , 50 HP Dual core systems, highly enhanced structure cabling, Internet facility and licensed software imparts practical training to its under graduate and post graduate students. Department of Fashion Technology with modernized power sewing machines, TUKATECH Software Design , Wet processing lab and modernized Textile Testing Lab. The department of fashion technology conducts practical training to its students in Drafting pattern, Marker making, Cutting plan Execution, testing of Textile materials , Fabric manufacturing process , Sample co-ordination , Fabric Dyeing , Garment-style creation , Printing technique , Design Development, studio design works.
Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur Library is occupied with more than 4000 volumes of books including Dictionaries, Art Books, Journals, Magazines and Encyclopedias. Books related to Computer Science, Computer Applications, Information Technology, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Catering science, Hotel Management, Economics, Fashion Technology, Tamil, English, French, Hindi, etc are racked in our library. Also various journals and Magazines related to the different disciplines are being subscribed. This will update the knowledge of the students and staff members. Popular dailies both in English and Tamil are also subscribed for the benefit of the students and faculty members.
Frequent bus facilities are available from all parts of Thanjavur district and from the entire State of Tamilnadu to easily access and reach the College. Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur Management is also providing college bus facility to the Students and Staff members within the town. Students of I Year are examined by medical practioners, dentists and eye specialists. Toppers in university examinations, best out going student in each discipline and students with 100% attendance are honoured every year. Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls separately at Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur . The Mess Bill will be under the dividing system. The Management tries to establish the facility shortly in the college premises for the benefit of the students. A 10day NSS Special Camp was conducted in Neelagiri Panchayat in which 150 men and women students actively participated alongwith NSS Programme officers Mr.A.Alanvijay, M.Maharajan, A.Rathakrishnan and Selvi. S.Usha. Health Awareness among rural folk, planting saplings, preparing list of dropouts from schools, Removal of plastic waste, were the activities carried out. Polio Drops campaign and a medical Camp were also held.
One of the important objectives of Bharath College of Science and Management – Thanjavur is "BE A JOB MAKER; NOT A JOB SEEKER". In this regard, all departments take immense steps in arranging training programmes for current students and placement for the outgoing students. By attending training programme students can develop their skills and start their own business and become a successful entrepreneur. Nutrition and Dietetics deapartment arrange internship training in leading hospitals and hotels along with placement assistance. Department of Fashion Technology provides training and placements fro their U.G. and P.G. Students. Students of Hotel Management are sent for industrial training in star hotels all over India twice in a year winter and summer for a duration of 45 days. Many are selected for employment during training itself. Efforts were taken by the management that 100% placement could be achieved for the 2001-2004 batch of students. Few could get placement in Abuthabi. A Training and Placement co-ordinator is entrusted with the work of training and placement.
