Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology – CIMAT was established in 1996, by Kovai Kalaimagal Educational Trust, a well-known Charitable Trust in Coimbatore. The institute is approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & Ministry of Human Resource Development (HRD) and is recognized by UGC under Section 2f & 12b of UGC Act.
Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology – CIMAT has a state of the art library with ample reference material covering wide topics. A separate communication cell is established to improve the communication skill of students. Separate and comfortable hostels for girls and boys are available inside the campus. To be effective in the current environment, professional education should provide broad intellectual understanding of the new paradigm, newer techniques of decision-making with the support of newer technologies and ability to work in different cultures and environment. The Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology – CIMAT is located at the foothills of Vellimalaipattinam, Narasipuram, Coimbatore sprawling over a land area of about 10 acres, surrounded by green hillocks. The campus has a picturesque and serene atmosphere with least disturbance and distraction; the students find the environment to be very conducive to pursue their studies. Facilities in the campus cater to the aspirations of the students, be it the pursuit of knowledge or the indulgence in extra-curricular activities.
The Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology – CIMAT has spacious building with well-furnished classrooms. Apart from required classrooms separate seminar hall, syndicate room, hall for special discussion and a hall equipped with audio and video equipments are also available with sufficient space. Hostels are available separately for boys and girls, within the campus. The College has recognized the importance of computer literacy, and established a state of the art computer lab with latest machines and software.
In the Coimbatore Institute of Management and Technology – CIMAT campus, There is an exclusive state-of-the-art Computer Laboratory with Pentium III and IV systems. The laboratory operating environment includes Windows NT, Unix, Linux, Novel Netware, and IIS. Internet facility and latest software's like Oracle 8i, Java and Visual Studio 6 are available.

There are more than 16304 books with 10651 titles. It has subscribed for 54 magazines, 52 national level journals and 8 international journals in various disciplines. He has interprets and enforce the rules, assisted by the chief warden i.e. the principal, the warden and the deputy warden.
