The
HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack is the first academic initiative of the HDF Trust. Its objective is to bridge the demand-supply gap of high quality management education in the eastern part of the country in general and Orissa in particular. The basis of School's differentiation is through a development sector orientation, high quality education, transparent and fair practices relating to stakeholders and integration of the world of academics and practice under one umbrella.
The programmes of the HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack are its Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM), Post Graduate Diploma in Financial Services (PGDFM), and Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Management (PGDRM) and Post Graduate course in Micro Finance Management (PGCM). They are designed to impart adequate knowledge and develop skills and attitude essential for managers to operate successfully in the increasingly dynamic and complex business and civil society environment. It will depend the participant's understanding of the individual in the organizational setting, the environmental context of the organization, the dynamics of the organizational functioning and the analytical tools and techniques required in the management of the organization. The institute has got approval from AICTE for PGDM program. AICTE approval for the PGDFM, PGDRM and PGCM is awaited and it is expected that the same will be available before the start of the program in July, 2010. The vision of the HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack is to be a progressive and self-reliant institution of excellence in management education and the mission of the colleges is to be a progressive and self-reliant institution of excellence in management education.
The HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack is located between Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, at Trisulia on the bank of the picturesque Kuakhai, distributary of Mahanadi. Its not very far from reputed institutions such as Utkal University, Ravenshaw University, XIMB, Also in close proximity lies Nandan Kanan, one of Asia’s largest Zoological Parks.
The HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack has a well-equipped and air-conditioned Conference Hall for organizing seminars, workshops and training programmes. The institute houses an ultra modern library. It sources the best of the relevant books, periodicals managed by LIBSYS software and also large number of e-journals from EBSCO and electronic data base like CMIE etc. The library with round the clock services provides to users a full range of resources to support teaching, training and research activities. The HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack has spacious and air-conditioned classrooms equipped with audio and visual aids like projector, microphone, speakers and others equipments. These are used for classroom lectures and presentations.
The HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack has a well-equipped and air-conditioned Conference Hall for organizing seminars, workshops and training programmes. PGDM is a fully residential course. The students are required to stay in the hostel. There are two separate hostels for boys and girls. The hostels have well-furnished rooms. Each hostel has a common hall for leisure activities. The hostels have boarding facilities managed by an elected student body. To keep both body and mind fit, the HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack encourages extra-curricular activities. It provides sports and games facilities like Badminton Court, Volley Ball Court etc. As the campus is located at a distance from the city, regular bus facilities are provided to the employees and the students for their conveyance.
The Placement Committee of the School headed by a senior faculty and supported by other faculty members, an experienced placement officer and student placement committee is responsible for facilitating 100% placement of students. The School, considering the best interest of the students, organises both on-campus and off-campus recruitment. The HDF School of Management – HDFSOM Cuttack has also become a hub for recruitment of students for other B-Schools. During the first few weeks of the placement season, the School has been successful in inviting companies like Panasonic, Eureka Forbes, Basix, HDFC Life, GSK, BPE, Ashika Stock Holding, Glennmark, Zuventus, SMC, SAMBAD, ADHIKAR, Mahindra Finance, ICICI Direct, Capital IQ, Reliance Communication, Tata Telecom Services, India Infoline, etc.
