Holy Cross Home Science College – Thoothukudi for girls is run by the Management of Sisters of the Cross, who reside within the campus, evincing a maternal care for the mantel, moral and civic values of the students.
Early in February 1973, the University of Madras had asked the Sisters to take up B.Sc, Degree course in Home Science. The month of June 1975 brought a new change in Holy Cross Home Science College – Thoothukudi. It was a red letter day for the management, staff and students of Holy Cross Home Science Academy. Sr. Elizabeth Rose was appointed as the first principal of the College and with the timely help offered by the sisters of the Holy Cross College, Tricky and Nagercoil.
