Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur was established in the city of Mandsaur in the state of Madhya Pradesh, India in the year 1996. Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur is managed by a Board of Governors with Mr. Narendra Nahata as its chairman. Shri Narendra Nahata is an ex-cabinet minister of Government of Madhya Pradesh and is credited to give new dimensions to technical education in Madhya Pradesh.
The Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur runs Under Graduate engineering courses approved by All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi (Statutory body of Government of India) and Department of Technical Education (DTE), Bhopal, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The campus of Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur is located on State Express Highway about 3 Kms. from the centre of Mandsaur city. The Institute has fully developed infrastructure facilities with qualified teaching faculty in all branches with industrial exposure.
The Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur started with engineering degree courses in Mechanical, Computer Science and Electronics & Telecommunication with intake of 60 in each stream, total 180 in the year 1996. The AICTE granted addition of more courses (One) in Information Technology with an intake of 40 students in the year 1999. Further in the year 2000 AICTE granted an increase in intake in Computer Science and IT for 30 and 20 students respectively thus bringing the total intake of the Institute to 270 students.
The Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur premises and performance have been reviewed by AICTE officials in March 2004 for further enhancement in courses EEE and intake in (Electronics & Telecommunication and Mechanical) and A Post Graduate program in MCA. In 2008 three new post graduate courses were introduced including M.Tech and MBA. Thus the Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur now has total intake to 516 students and 5 degree level engineering courses and three Post Graduate courses.

The buildings in Academic Zone have been designed as per the norms laid down by AICTE. The building provides sufficient space and environment for various facilities like classrooms, laboratories, audio-visual room, lecture theaters, central library and inbuilt open air auditorium. A separate landscape development project worth Rs. 25 lakhs is in progress.

In addition to the standard and general software, special packages are available for the use of students in their course work. The computer center is having facility of internet, round the clock, through 256 kbps leased line and 2 MBPS Broadband service on Fiber optic. All the systems in the computer center are with latest configuration. The computing faculties in the Mandsaur Institute of Technology - MIT Mandsaur is supported by 6 laboratories with state of the art hardware and software which includes Pentium IV computers, High end servers and Licensed software. The Library has fully automated & computerized setup electronic search for reading material through On line public access catalogue (OPAC). Seating capacity 250 users at a time user-friendly environment. The Library is linked to National & International networks through Internet and in the institute through LAN. All the departments also maintain their Departmental Libraries, which are linked to Central Library.

The Institute plans to open more Training & Placement Cell offices spread across the country viz. at Baroda, Pune, Delhi, Jaipur etc. in order to give a real time exposure to students ensuring their summer training and to provide the industry well trained and groomed engineers.
