Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada was established in the year 1999. Initially, we started the institute with MCA course. In 2001 we introduced the B. Tech. Degree Course with three branches namely Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT) and Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE). In 2002 Mechanical Engineering and in 2003 Civil Engineering courses were further introduced. We are proud to declare that we have the full fledged departments of CSE, IT, ECE, EEE, Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering since 2004 and we introduced MBA in 2006.
The Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada is duly approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. During 1999 when the institution was started affiliated to Berhampur University, Berhampur. However after the establishment of the Technical University, Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela, IACR is now affiliated to Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). Our Institute is certified with ISO 9001:2000 by Bureau Veritas for the Quality Management System.
The Central Library of Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada contains 25000 volumes and 1200 titles to fulfil the needs of the students. Students are encouraged to avail the facilities round the clock from the Central library. Also every department maintains its own departmental library. The Central Library subscribing much number of National & International journals and magazines on different areas.
Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada is providing internet facility to its students and staff through a high speed 4 mbps connection from BSNL. 150 numbers of computers are connected to internet in different buildings, which are connected through Optical fibre backbone. The whole network is managed through managed switches, high end proxy servers and firewall. The College campus is connected through high speed Wi-Fi network. Students are allowed to access internet through their laptops round the clock.
Beautiful garden, cool parlours make it relaxing for students to spend their leisure time. A fleet of 15 buses round the clock take care of the transport needs of the students and staff.
The Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada has beautifully maintained fields for playing Cricket, Basket ball, Base ball including many indoor games. Separate Hostels for Boys and Girls with excellent catering facilities at affordable rate are provided. Discipline is the catch word in these student-friendly abodes. Superintendents look after the boarders acting as friends, philosophers and guides to the boarders. A medical officer is specially appointed to take care of health of the students.
Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada is a partner in the prestigious Campus Connect Program of Infosys Limited. As part of this program, IACR faculty is being trained by Infosys Trainers in technical and personality development modules. Faculty members are also working in Infosys under sabbatical programs. Students are being trained by our faculty on Infosys prepared study material which will enable them to join Infosys and other companies at a higher entry level as compared to freshers’ level.
As part of this program, Institute of Advanced Computer and Research - IACR Rayagada students get training on Oracle certificate and non-degree programs via Continuing Education. It allows easy and low cost Oracle training in the institution itself. IACR faculty is being trained by Oracle University from time to time, which keeps update on Oracle Technology. Members of the Workforce Development Program are entitled to a host of valuable benefits. Instructors, students and technical support staff from WDP member departments are eligible to obtain the 40% discount on Oracle certification exams.
