Earlier name of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara was College of Engineering and Polytechnic Satara was change to Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic Satara in 1989. Dr. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil is founder of Rayat Shikshan Shanstha hence it was emotional moment in history of college. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara was running in small campus of other sister colleges. In 1990 college shifted to present campus which is in heart of the city. Our first principal was Shri.M.S.Gopal and first employee of our college is Shri Suresh Shirke.
The mission of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara are committed to produce excellent technocrats through academic excellence and inculcating “Rayat Culture” in the minds of students for prosperity of society and nation. To achieve the status of frontline technical institute in the state of Maharashtra to achieve academic Autonomy. Majority of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara students were and are from rural area. Since beginning admissions are given purely on merit basis and without any donation even institute level admission Sanstha is not accepting any donation though college needs huge funds for its new building at Panavalevadi.
Under chairmanship of Dr.N.D.Patil and secretary Shri R.D.Gaikwad Sanstha took decision to start Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara in Production, Electronics and Construction branches with 60 intakes. Subsequently in degree wing mechanical is stated in 1997 with 40 intake and converted into 60 in2002.Construction branch is converted into Civil in 1987. Computer branch was added in1998 with 30 intake and change to 60 intakes in 2002. For diploma wing Construction branch is change to civil in1994, Electronics to Digital Electronics in 2006 and Production to Mechanical 2005.

A large collection of about 9000 books has already been acquired and more will be added to the list at Rapid pace. Issue and return of books will be done on all days by Aetolia library software. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara Library has a collection of about 56 national and 15 international journals and Periodical for all disciplines. According to the latest trend, the Digital Library is started for introducing concept of digital Acquisition of information to our students.
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara has a well-equipped Computer Lab. with best machines and materials. Computer Lab has 20 Computer Systems. A separate, spacious and well-equipped science laboratory that helps the student to develop his own skills in practice and in doing the experiments. Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara has adequate playground full of nature. Along with spacious ground the college has special sports room with all required sports and exercise materials, which encourages the students to play and participate in various sports competitions.
Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara provide hostel for Boys and Girls. There are 152 and 174 seats for girls and boys respectively. Selection of boarders for Boys' and Girls' Hostel is made on the basis of the following criteria. There is reservation of seats for SC (22%), ST (6%), and PH (1%). The boarders shall strictly abide by the rules as laid down by the office of the Dean of Students' Welfare of Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil College of Engineering and Polytechnic - Satara. Violation or breach of disciplines whatsoever by any boarder is punishable under the University Rules, Regulations, Statutes and Acts.
