Mamata Educational Society has started Mamata College of Nursing – Khammam in 2002 with the approval of the State Government. This was started to create job opportunities to the local students. College started with intake of 40 students and subsequently the same was raised to intake of 100 by the State Government. College is also offering M.Sc Nursing in 5 specialities from 2010. The college is recognized by the Nursing Council of India. The Nursing College has a separate building measuring 20000.00 sq. ft.
Mamata College of Nursing – Khammam is situated at # 5-7-200, Mamata General Hospital Campus, Khammam-A.P. Keeping in view of growing global demand for B.Sc. Nursing candidates, Mamata intends to have collaboration with USA, UK, Australia, Canada and Middle East Countries for providing man power from our Nursing College. Residential facilities for the student nurses as well as the nursing staff are provided with all the essential amenities within the campus. The students get hands on training in the 840 bed Mamata General Hospital which is the teaching hospital of Mamata Medical College. Students share all common facilities of medical college departments.
A sure sign of any organisation's growth is the amount of time and efforts it dedicates in keeping a track of the past activities and future plans, In Mamata College of Nursing – Khammam the labs and Museums are treasures of riches, that need to be safeguarded for the reference of the future doctors. The specimens in the museums provide immensely useful information for the students as do the labs where the students conduct experiments. The labs are provided with adjacent Demo rooms.
A majority of the students come from other cities and towns. Therefore, providing residential facilities becomes a prime task. Mamata College of Nursing – Khammam has laid out well demarcated air-conditioned and non A/C hostels. Nurses have been allotted separate hostels. Transportation facilities are provided to the students for Commuting between College and Hospital as well as field work and Health camps. There are 3 Airconditioned Tata Marcopolo Buses, one Van, one Tata Winger and 2 Tata Sumos exclusively earmarked for this purpose. A mobile Dental clinic is available for dental camps. A Free Excursion is arranged for the students every year in our airconditioned buses.
