NAUI Beginning
NAUI association started their business journey back in the year 1959 when Albert Tillman and Neal Hess started a course for certification in swimming at Houston’s Shamrock
Hilton Hotel. The first batch was started with 72 candidates. NAUI got their incorporation in the year 1961. NAUI operates at numerous locations with a number of affiliated stores, service centers and instructors.
NAUI Courses
NAUI run different training courses such as recreational courses, specialty courses, leadership courses and technical courses in the areas of underwater diving and other activities. The association was formed by Neal Hess and an American underwater diver, Albert Tillman who served as president for many years in the company. NAUI introduced number of other training courses with the passage of time. In 1992, it approved the Nitrox training and became the first training agency to do so. The slogan of the company, i.e.
Dive Safety Through Education clearly depicts the objective of the NAUI. Many governmental agencies make use of NAUI's services for training purpose of their new recruits. Those include the US Navy, SEALs,
