NMIMS School of Science - SOS Mumbai is started by NMIMS Deemed-to-be-University, which began by offering programs in Management, enjoying international recognition as one of the leading institutions of Management training, has now established a School of Technology, a School of Pharmacy, a School of Commerce and a NMIMS School of Science - SOS Mumbai with a view to provide undergraduate and postgraduate students an opportunity to be a part of the unique learning methodology of the university, which lays emphasis on academic excellence combined with industry oriented training.
Faculty at NMIMS School of Science - SOS Mumbai is ably supported by academicians, expert scientific personnel as well as experts from sister institutions and from industry. Faculty pool comprises of experts, most of who have doctorates in the various disciplines of science available at the NMIMS itself, as well as from C. B. Patel Research Centre, Mithibai College, D. J. Sanghvi Engineering College and N. M. College. Visiting faculty also comprises of eminent speakers from industry with vast experience, who regularly conduct lectures on topics pertaining to areas of their expertise. This setup is established at School of Science whose very purpose is to develop technically skilled manpower for industry. The Learning Resource provides a number of innovative information services including Journal Content Service, News Clipping Service, and Monthly Documents Additions Lists.
NMIMS School of Science - SOS Mumbai has air-conditioned seminar/class room with audio visual facility. The laboratories are well equipped with sophisticated equipment, essential to undertake quality research. In addition, it also has access to a complete, state of the art, set up to undertake pharmacokinetic studies as a part of research programme. Two computer labs with 80 workstations connected to internet are available for the use of the students. Instructors are also regularly available to assist students in planning and implementing their projects.
