Research at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology - NMIT Nelson is primarily but not exclusively focused on the areas of its undergraduate teaching. It aims to support the needs of its stakeholders regionally and nationally, by both undertaking and encouraging the uptake of applied research in these areas. The Health Clinic is in the Student Centre and is accessed via the Student Support Helpdesk. The nurse is available Monday to Friday 8.30am - 1.00pm and caters for minor health needs. The nurse also provides students and staff health checks, as well as the promotion of Quitline, healthy living and wellness. The Pacific Island Liaison provides support, advice and encouragement wherever possible for all Pacific Island students at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology - NMIT Nelson. This is performed through ongoing contact with students face-to-face and by telephone. The Pacific Island Liaison is available on Monday and Friday mornings.
