Paradip College came into existence in 1975. The college, at present imparts teaching in arts and science at degree stage with Hons. Teaching facility in English, Oriya, Political Science, History, Economics in Arts and in physics. Intra-disciplinary subjects like Environmental Studies, Population Studies, Indian Society and Culture, Biological Science, Mathematics and Statistics along with IT in +3 Sc are also taught.
The Paradip College was total student strength of 1450 on its roll with 616 at +3 level and 834 at Higher Secondary level. Out of 616 students there are 183 male and 433 female students.
The Paradip College was 44 faculties with 5 Ph.D and 9 M.Phil degree holders. There are 7 technical assistants and 24 administrative staff. The Paradip College was a partially computerized library which houses 20,140 books. In addition to this the college contributes for 16 No. of Journals of National & State level and many periodicals.
The infrastructure of the Paradip College includes 3 Galleries, 3 Halls, 7 Departmental Rooms, 7 Laboratories, Five class rooms, One Conference Hall, One Administrative Block, Staff Common Room, Boys Common Room, Girls Common Room, Students Union Room, N.C.C Room, Nss Room, YRC Un-Health Care Center-Cum-First Aid Center, Students Grievance Cell, Central Library, Reading Room, Reference Section, Canteen, Old Boys Association Room etc. 3 Vehicle Sheds etc. Recently a special IGNOU study center has been opened.
The Paradip College has a 50 bedded boys’ Hostel and it rooms in an asbestos roofed building of paradip port trust.
The mission of the Paradip College is to foster a sense of global outlook and culture by coming in contact with the people of almost all countries visiting this place, to develop the skills with growth of technological pace and transforming the institution into a training ground for producing necessary technical personnel for the nation, to create an awareness about the preservation of environment in the industrialized sector like Paradip in particular and in its adjoining areas in general.
