The American medical association (AMA) was founded by Nathan S.
Davis in the year 1847 at
Academy of natural science in Philadelphia. This being the largest and oldest advocacy group representing American physicians, the association represents one third of the nation’s doctors which also includes the medical students in the U.S. The association’s mission is to promote public health, to improve the interest of the physicians and their patients and also to provide legislation favourable to them.
