Alan Irwin Menken is an American composer, songwriter, pianist and record producer. He was born on July 22, 1949 in New Rochelle, New York, U.S. Alan Menken began his career in 1970 and his first major successful work was God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater. He has won many Oscar awards for his works which include The Little Mermaid (1989), Aladdin (1992), Beauty and the Beast (1991) and Pocahontas (1995).
