USS Reedbird (AMc-30) was a Reedbird-class coastal minesweeper (naval warship) acquired by the U.S. Navy for the task of removing mines from minefields laid in the water to prevent ships from passing. The first ship to be named Reedbird by the Navy was built in 1935. It was renamed Reedbird (AMc-30) on 30 December 1940 and converted to a coastal minesweeper by the Campbell Machine Co., San Diego, California. Reedbird (AMc-30) was placed in service on 29 April 1941. It operated in Hawaiian waters throughout World War II and got struck on 7 February 1946. Reedbird (AMc-30) was placed out of service on 14 January 1946 and was delivered to the Maritime Commission for disposal on 8 November 1946. The general characteristics of Reedbird (AMc-30) included Displacement (223, full load), Length (87 ft 5), Beam (23 ft 10), Draught (10 ft 3), Speed (10.0 knots), Complement (12) and Armament two .50 cal. machine guns.
