Amir Taheri is an Iranian writer on politics and social affairs. He was born on 9 June 1942 in the city of Ahvaz in Tehran. Amir Taheri has served as the executive editor-in-chief of the Iranian daily, Kayhan from 1972 to 1979 and also editor-in-chief of Jeune Afrique from 1985 to 1987. The books authored by Amir Taheri include Holy Terror (1987), Nest of Spies (1989), The Unknown Life of the Shah (1991) etc.
