Anika Noni Rose is an actress and TV personality of United States. She was born on 6 September 1972 in Bloomfield, Connecticut, United States and is also a singer. Anika Rose is popularly known for her roles in movies Dreamgirls and For Colored Girls. Anika Rose began her career with the musical Footloose in 1998. She pursued her studies from Florida A&M University and has appeared in many films which include From Justin to Kelly, Temptation, Just Add Water and As Cool As I Am. Anika Rose is also the recipient of many awards which include Dean Goodman Choice Award – Valley Song (1998), OBIE Award – Eli's Comin (2001) and Black Reel Award – Outstanding Ensemble – For Colored Girls (2011).
