Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum was started in June, 1975. The college offering Degree courses in Science, Commerce, Arts & Computer Application, till date, the college has produced a large number of quality graduates. It is situated in a very spacious campus in the cool and green Cantonment area of Belgaum. Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum has well designed buildings with modern infrastructure, laboratories and a well equipped library. The qualified staff gives personal attention to students, and prepare them to meet the challenges of the industry and Business World. From the academic year 2007-08 Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum is permitted to start bachelor of Business Administration Course. The BBA course is affiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad and recognized by the Govt. of Karnataka. It is a three year undergraduate course spread over six semesters. The maximum intake in the college is 100 candidates.
Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum is situated at Jyoti Compound, Club Riad, Belgaum, Karnataka. The library is supposed to be the core of any educational institution. Every effort is being made for the development and enrichment of the library. More than 27,000 books have been added to the library since the inception of Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum . The library is planned in such a way that it meets entirely the needs of the students. Books are supplied to the students for home reading. A separate study room is attached to the library. Management runs hostels for boys and girls in the campus. Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum has computer labs to meet the individual practice needs of students. A camp of three to four days is arranged every year in which medical practitioners checkup the students. In addition doctor visits the college regularly and checkup the students suffering from illness.
Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum NCC unit consists of 100 cadets out of which 30% will be female cadets. The students will have to undergo training as per N.C.C. rules. There is special Air Wing N.C.C. which provides a special training in flying, gliding and aeromodelling for deserving Lady Students. This is a scheme sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Government of India, which aims to involve the college in Social Service Activities.
There is an immense enthusiasm among the students to serve the community and N.S.S. is the proper organization to provide an opportunity. Students can give their suggestions or lodge their complaints, in writing by putting in the box kept for the purpose. The box will be opened once in a fortnight and proper suggestions and complaints will be looked after. Final year degree students are selected through written test, personal counseling and are being trained in language and Analytical skills. They are further prepared for campus placement in various multinational companies.
A separate Career Guidance & Placement Cell is functioning in Bhaurao Kakatkar College – Belgaum .
