Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology GZSCET came into existence in the year 1989 when it was fully funded by the State Government. It was the first institute which was started with the financial help from state government in Punjab. Its foundation stone was laid by honorable Governor of Punjab, Shri SS Ray on 23rd October, 1989 started with the name of Government Engineering College. It turned out to be an autonomous institute from Government Engineering College in 1992 and renamed as Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology. It was managed by “Board of Governors” (BOG). It is one of the eminent institutes of architecture, science and technology in Punjab.
Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology GZSCET offers four years Of Bachelor’s degree courses in Civil, Computer Engg., Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Computer Science, Textile Technology and Architecture. Admissions are available to these courses through the merit list that is set according to the score of the candidates in the PTU. Reservation is also available to these courses for the categories such as SC, ST and OBC.
Giani Zail Singh College of Engineering and Technology GZSCET campus is stretched over an area of 162 acres of land which owns the modern infrastructure. GZSCET owns an OPD, hostel, gym, library in its campus. A fully equipped OPD with six beds and ambulance is there if needed for the medical care of the staff and the students. There are five hostels in the college campus. College also offers the bus services to the students and the staff. The Library of college is the home of numerous books, journals and magazines. GZSCET has a well equipped workshop with state of art equipments.
