Hills College of Teacher Education – HCTE Naharlagun students in the emerging areas of Professional Education. The state Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Department of Higher Education has also given clearance to run the college vide letter No. ED/HE-602/2003.
Hills College of Teacher Education – HCTE Naharlagun is located at Naharlagun in Arunachal Pradesh. The most encouraging and exciting fact is that to promote professional education in the state, the Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Itanagar has also extended the Arunachal Pradesh Stipend Scheme 2001 facility vide letter No. ED/HE-78/87 dated 14th march 2007 to the bonafied Arunachal Pradesh Scheduled Tribe Teacher -Trainees of this Institute.
The Hills College of Teacher Education – HCTE Naharlagun promotes innovative works and researches in the field of Teacher Education by conducting Action Researches, organizing work- experience activities, conduction seminars, developing indigenous teaching learning materials and practicing rigorous skill based teaching and training programmes etc to bring behavioral changes in Teacher-Trainees in particular and up gradation of Teacher Education in general.
The Hills College of Teacher Education – HCTE Naharlagun has a well-equipped library with a reasonable number of books other than the reference books, journals and the newspapers. Each student, on admission, gets three (03) reader cards to borrow books from the library. Students are entitled to get the books issued for fifteen (15) days against a reader’s card. A fine @ Rs 1.00 per day is imposed after the expiry of the date of the returning of the books. The college also provides photocopy facilities to the teachers, students and other staff members at a concessional rate.
The Hills College of Teacher Education – HCTE Naharlagun even if does not maintain any hostel directly, but takes care of the private mess where only lady teacher- trainees use to stay. As the college stands at the centre of the town, it avails the public Bank and Post office facilities adjacent to the college building (hardly 100–200 meters away from the college). Canteen and cooperative store facilities are also there for the students.
The Govt. Hospital of the state of Arunachal Pradesh is at a walk-able distance from the Hills College of Teacher Education – HCTE Naharlagun . So in term of medical facilities all services are available to the students. With regard to Transport Facilities, there is no problem as the college exists beside the NH-52-A and nearby the Govt. Bus stand (Approximately 200 meters). In addition to these facilities, the college is planning to provide special college bus facility from the coming academic session(s). College offers Bachelor of Education course students.
