IES College of Engineering - Thrissur was established in year 2003 and is ten kilometers from Thrissur City Corporation, the cultural capital of Kerala. Located in a lush green picturesque land in Chittilappilly, Thrissur, IES College of Engineering - Thrissur is three kilometers from Thrissur-Guruvayur highway and four kilometers from Amala railway station. It is a hi-tech technical training institution, under self-financing scheme, run by the Ideal Education Society and managed by the various committees of IES College of Engineering - Thrissur .

The IES College of Engineering - Thrissur management has initiated efforts to make the college ambience more friendly and supportive. In tune with the mission the college has a well stacked spacious library accomodating a hoard of books and technical journals both national and international include multimedia kits, micro films and CD’s. Adding up to this vast library each individual department is facilitated with a self sufficient department libraries. This libraries satisfy the thirst of knowledge of our entrants. We are in the process of building a state of art electronic library. The IES College of Engineering - Thrissur boasts of one of the best libraries of its kind in Indian academic institutions. It consists of more than 10000 volumes of latest books and journals from India and abroad. A vast collection of micro films and CDs. Digital library in multi media environment.
Separate hostels are arranged for men and women with facilities for 100 wards in each. Well designed rooms, delicious and nutritive culinary, hygienic bathrooms. TV room and toilets all make them a place to be wished for. The IES College of Engineering - Thrissur is also providing conveyance to students residing in places outside the campus. The canteen is spacious and provide all types of food to students and also near to the IES College of Engineering - Thrissur . We are having a canteen now and our new one is going to finish its construction and will function soon. We have a store which provide the students to get all the things a student will be in need of, in a day’s stay, the assignment sheets, paper, pen, pencil, etc.
The IES College of Engineering - Thrissur encourages and conducts various extra curricular activities in order to find out and develop the innate talent of the students and organizes various cultural and sports programmes. There are exclusive playgrounds for football, hockey, cricket, tennis and basketball.
Three of our six branches are information technology oriented. Information in essence, drives the new economy. We have equipped our laboratories with latest high end computers and software, electronic laboratory equipments, instrumentation and process control devices, and best micro processor and micro controller set ups. As per the AICTE norms and curriculum of the University of Calicut, the IES College of Engineering - Thrissur has been well equipped with requisite subject associated laboratory facilities and also computer rich laboratories, each located in individual blocks. The computer labs are facilitated with advanced versions of software’s working on various platforms including Linux, Microsoft windows XP professional etc.; thus bringing a word class ambience for the students to think and develop their skills. Additionally the college has workshops and drawing halls with modern equipments.
Training and Placement is an integral and a very important part of the academic career of any engineering graduate seeking right perspective and orientation before entering into the job market. In addition to the academic and technical background, the candidates do need to develop their personality, acquire communication skills and positive attitude for a job. IES College of Engineering - Thrissur has Training and Placement Center exclusively for taking care of the above activities and for inviting reputed companies for campus selection. This center is guided by faculty representatives from each department with overall supervision by Dr. C.J. James. The center acts as a morale booster to extend all possible assistance to career conscious students. Multinational companies are in need of well groomed personalities with the right mix of academics and soft skills relating to communication, teamwork, leadership, body language, stress management etc.
The TPC is striving to provide training in the above areas. The center is also keeping individual files with relevant information of each candidate. The TPC also arranges frequent visits to industries as part of co-curricular programmes so as to provide an industrial exposure to the students.
