Karnatak Law Societys Gogte Institute of Technology – KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum was established in the year 1979 with a liberal financial donation by the Late shri Raosaheb B. M. Gogte, a noted Industrialist and philanthropist. Karnatak Law Societys Gogte Institute of Technology – KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum started with undergraduate courses in three Engineering disciplines with a total intake of 180 and a total staff strength of 16. Now, it offers under graduate courses in eight disciplines, postgraduate studies in five disciplines, Research and Ph.D. programmes in 8 decipline, Master’s course in Computer Applications and Master of Business Administration. Karnatak Law Societys Gogte Institute of Technology – KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum has seen a phenomenal growth in students strength from meagre 180 in 1979 to 2800 plus in the academic year 2008-09. The total staff strength has grown manifold from 16 in 1979 to 350 plus today. College shall stand out as an institution of Excellence in Technical education and in Training individuals for outstanding calibre and character.

It contains a well classified and extensive collection of books. It has 70116 volumes and 19590 titles on its shelves fulfilling the curricular needs of the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Karnatak Law Societys Gogte Institute of Technology – KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum Library is completely automated. All the books are bar coded. The Library receives 234 national and international journals and periodicals on various branches of engineering and allied subjects. It also subscribes on-line journals from AICTE INDEST Consortium. The Library is complemented by the IEEE Students' Chapter Library which subscribes to all the IEEE Journals and Periodicals. Karnatak Law Societys Gogte Institute of Technology – KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum Digital Library with an excellent infrastructure has been setup at the Library and Information Center building of Gogte Institute of Technology campus. This has been a classic setup designed by our Computer Center with latest Computers on Wireless LAN in accordance with IEEE 802.11B. The D-Link make Access Points and Wireless LAN Cards have been used.
Karnatak Law Societys Gogte Institute of Technology – KLS Gogte Institute of Technology Belgaum has furnished Boys Hostel with a capacity of 283 and Girls Hostel with a capacity of 250 inside the campus and 70 outside the campus with amenities such as Internet Connectivity, Gym etc. Each Hostel has its own Mess. Hostel Mess serves healthy and hygienic food to the students. Faculty Coordinators are appointed to oversee the functioning of both the Hostels.

Sattigeri and Dr. (Mrs.) Neha Kulkarni who provide necessary Medical support to the Students and Staff. Doctors also provide Free Medical consultancy and support to all the Students and Staff. Well equipped Multi-Gym is functional under the supervision of a Qualified Physical Director. The Bank with ATM Centre is located outside the main gate. The facility of opening accounts is provided to all the Students and Staff members. Safe deposite locker facility is also provided to the staff members. All the Canteens are maintained with well equipped utensils. Institute owns ten Buses plying between various locations in the City and Institute. Institute also hires buses from State transport. Many reputed companies visit the institution for campus recruitment. Students are oriented for Placement Activity from the 3rd semester itself. Training programs are initiated for the 5th semester students in Aptitude Test Technical Domain, Group Discussions, Interviews, Communication Skills, English Accent, Dress Code, Manners and Etiquettes etc.
