Velammal Engineering College – Chennai was established in the year 1995-96 to impart quality education. College is a self financing non-minority institution and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) also ISO and Accreditation . The Velammal Educational Trust is a registered non-minority service organization established in the year 1986 by Thiru. M.V. Muthuramalingam to inculcate among the youth a sense of discipline which is important to mould them into useful and capable citizens. Velammal Engineering College – Chennai is situated at Velammal Nagar, Ambattur-Red Hills Road,Chennai. College is spread over 37 acres and has an integrated campus with impressive facilities. The Canteen functions mostly for the day scholars. Breakfast, mini-lunch and Tiffen are provided at subsidized rate.
