Kumaraguru College of Technology – KCT Coimbatore is a private Engineering College started in 1984 under the auspices of Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group. Located at 2 Kms off the Coimbatore-Mysore national highway (NH-209), the congenial and well-developed college campus spreads over a sprawling 150 acres of land.

Altogether the college has over 269 well-qualified teaching staff and about 251 supporting technical staff. The combined student intake during current year is 1179 and the total number of students on roll is 3738. A comprehensive accidental insurance scheme covers all. Mahatma Gandhi Central library of Kumaraguru College of Technology – KCT Coimbatore is housed in the first floor of the Dr. Mahalingam Vigyan Bhavan in a vast area of 16945 square feet (1575 sq.m.). The main aim of the central library is to provide information services and access to print and e-resources to support the scholarly and informational needs of the institute community.
The fully computerized central library of Kumaraguru College of Technology – KCT Coimbatore is well equipped with modern facilities and resources in the form of books, print and e-journals, CD-ROMs, on-line databases, audio video cassettes and project reports etc. Open Access System is being followed in the central library. Currently the college offers 12 under graduate B.E., B.Tech, 13 post-graduate M. Tech, MCA, MBA.
