The dawn of August 15, 1974 not only welcomed the anniversary of Indian independence but also marked the beginning of a new chapter in the annals of education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. This eventful day saw the forming of
MNR College of Physiotherapy - Hyderabad, founded by Sri. M.N. Raju, Chairman of MNR Educational Group, who conceived the idea of network of MNR institutions long before it was given a concrete shape, and is the guiding and motivating force that inspires the dedicated staff members and the ever growing numbers of the student community.

College offers Bachelor of Physiotherapy and Master of Physiotherapy in various specializations.

Faculty of Medicine in Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, General Medicine, General Surgery and Orthopedics provide the guidance and additional training sessions to students. MNR College of Physiotherapy - Hyderabad Students expand their horizons of therapeutic and rehabilitation concepts through involvement in community based rehabilitation programs and other ''outreach'' activities sponsored by the Government of India and other international agencies.
MNR College of Physiotherapy - Hyderabad students receive training in the technical aspects of manufacturing of various aids and implements such as calipers, artificial limbs etc at a well equipped Orthotic & Prosthetic unit. The institution has excellent infrastructure facilities which includes: Spacious lecture halls with well equipped audio visual aids, an 8000 Sq. ft central library with access to over 10,000 books and 60 Indian and foreign journals, text books and reference books dedicated to physiotherapy, a media center attached to central library has internet, copying and fax facilities.
There are two separate labs in the MNR College of Physiotherapy - Hyderabad , one each for Kinesio therapeutics (exercise therapy) and electro therapy. These labs have all physiotherapy equipment essential for demonstration and practice by students. A fully functional physiotherapy department present in attached MNR Hospital provides both outpatient and inpatient physiotherapy services. It has all facilities including: Ultra sound therapy, SWF, TENS, IFT, Hydrocollator packs, Paraffin wax therapy, Traction, Exercise bicycle, Tread mill, Portable sports PT equipment, Massage, Manual therapy etc.
After completion of BPT degree, MNR College of Physiotherapy - Hyderabad students have opportunities for higher education like post graduation in specialties of physiotherapy like orthopedics, neurology, cardio thoracic and sports. They can also pursue Doctorate in Physiotherapy. Physiotherapists can work as consultants in corporate / super specialty hospitals, can start independent clinics. They have opportunities to assist sports teams at district, state, zonal, national and international levels. New avenues are opening in industrial health, ergonomics and fitness training. Those with academic bent of mind can work in physiotherapy colleges and teaching hospitals.
