His first step into the field of education – the Venkatesha Education Society – has undergone a metamorphosis from a Teacher Training College to a highly eminent organization with 11 institutions functioning efficiently under its auspices.
MVJ College of Engineering - Bangalore has built a new spacious Central Library spanning a total floor area of 17,000 sq ft. Combining aesthetics with utility, the modern Library houses about 40,000 books and subscriptions to over 112 - national (78) and international (34) journals. The Library also subscribes to more than 200 E-Journals through the INDEST-AICTE Consortium – IEL. The Library of the MVJ College of Engineering - Bangalore comes with provision for modern facilities including Library Automation, Conference Hall, Media Center, Stock Section, Reference Section, Issue Section with advanced computers and other peripherals. The Reference section is complete open access. This section is available for reference purpose between 8 am to 10 pm on all working days and 9.00 am to 4.00 pm on Sundays and 9 am to 1 pm on Holidays. Xerox facilities are available to enable readers to take photocopies.
Internet Centre of the MVJ College of Engineering - Bangalore is well equipped with total 40 computers and all are connected through Local Network. A 10 Mbps leased line connection from BSNL caters for the Internet facility and the Email. The Centre is open 365 days in a year. The timing is from 08.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. There are over 2000 students utilizing this facility. Sports activities occupy a significant part of the college curriculum at MVJ College of Engineering - Bangalore. Besides hosting the MVJ Memorial Cricket Tournament, one of Bangalore's most prestigious cricket tournaments in the college circuit,MVJ College of Engineering - Bangalore has also played host to the Mrs. Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Inter Collegiate Volley Ball Tournament, since 2003.The department is headed by Sri Vishwanatha C N, Physical Education Director. He has done M.P.Ed, M.Phil. and Diploma in Sports Coaching. He secured 3rd Rank in Mysore University exams of degrees in B.P.Ed & M.P.Ed. He has represented Karnataka in Hand Ball senior Nationals two times and was part of the team which won the south zone senior National Tournament held at Warangal, AP.
