Dedicated to the revered memory of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi College - Thiruvananthapuram was founded by the Nair Service Society in 1948, with contributions from people from all walks of life. The Mahatma Gandhi College - Thiruvananthapuram was started in 1948, initially in the premises of Vadasseri Amma Veedu at Perumthanni and later it was shifted to its present site.
