For the social enrichment of poor children, especially all round development of talented, helpless and incapable boys and girls of rural areas through Indian Culture and Sanskrit Education, the Sthal Ashram, Udaipur with the blessings of Mewar Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Shri Murali Manohar Sharan Shastri, established Nimbark Ganga Society and was registered on 6-3-1965 under Rajasthan Institution Registration Act, 1958, Rajasthan Act 28/1958 /Registration No. 136/64-65. In dynamic leadership of Founder President of Nimbark Ganga Society, Mewar Mahamandaleshwar Mahant Shri Murali Manohar Sharan Shastri, Nimbark Teachers Training Nimbark Teachers Training College was inaugurated on 14th September 1978 and Nimbark Sanskrit Training School on 14 th September 1989.
The objectives of Institution are to develop and organize the institution as an educational society, To inaugurate and organize various institutions of teaching and training at different levels, To manage hostels, schools, colleges, library and reading room for students and organize diagnosis and research for practical teaching and training, To take up research for education and medical education and to organize supplementary activities for this, To contribute to literacy programme, To manage previous educational institutions run by Sthal Asharam of Swami Prayagdas Ji, To establish, organize and help public schools or educational undertakings along with Moral Conduct and Moral Education, Yoga Education, Sanskrit Education, Veda, Karma and Religions Education, To organize educational processes like Technical Education, Physical Education, and Vocational Education, To receive support of various measures for this to give money, to receive money, To receive and give donation, aid etc., to purchase and sell movable and immovable property, to receive and give loan, to take up various activities for development, to give scholarships, to organize camps, to publish, to serve society through education without any discrimination.
Nimbark Teachers Training College is well situated outside Suraj Pole and opposite Rajasthan College of Agriculture on the Adarsh Path, a pride of Rajasthan, in the heart of Udaipur which is a triveni (Confluence) of devotion, sacrifice and valour, a Kashmir of Rajasthan, a pious devotional singing place of Meera, a work place of Kshatriya worriers like Bappa Rawal, Maharana Hamir, Sanga, Kumbha, Pratap etc, a capital of Mewar with scenic beauty and a city of beautiful lakes, gardens and palaces. The college campus is large and is adorned with a two storied college building, Dwarikadhish Sabhagar, Yagyavalkya Mandapam, Playgrounds, Nimbark Garden and Sandipan Hostel. It has sufficient land and place for future development.
In a two storeyed building of Nimbark Teachers Training College, there are two auditoriums - (1) Dwarikadhish Sabhagar and (2) Panini Vakpeeth. Each of these has a seating capacity of 300 trainees and is used for prayer, literary and cultural activities and various festivals and programmes. Besides this, there are 4 big classrooms with a sitting capacity of 60 students each for the teaching of compulsory theory papers. Added to this, 5 classrooms are separately available for the teaching of optional subjects.
In addition to these rooms, the Nimbark Teachers Training College has Psychology lab, Science lab, Education Technology lab, Language lab, Computer lab, Work Experience Workshop, Games Room, Ved Vyas Pustakalaya, Ganga Vachanalaya, Administrative Room and store rooms along with staff room and separate rooms for male and female trainees. All these rooms are well-equipped with tables, chairs, seminar chairs, black boards, fans etc.
The Nimbark Teachers Training College has its own 2 Volleyball, 2 Kabaddi and 01 Ring Ball grounds. The adjacent Govt. Fateh Senior Secondary School and Sports Complex of Rajasthan College of Agriculture are easily available for Football, Hockey, Cricket and athletic practice. There are separate rooms for indoor games, like Table Tennis, Carum etc. Necessary material for games and sports is available in sufficient quantity. Various literary, cultural and games and sports are organized in which the trainees enthusiastically participate and the winners are given prizes and certificates.
The Nimbark Teachers Training College has 5 hostels - Sandipan, Valmiki, Sthal Ashram, Gargi and Maitreyi. Separate hostels are available for male and female trainees. All these hostels are situated near the college and have a residential facility for 300 students. All rooms are fully equipped. The college and hostel buildings have proper electricity and water facilities. There is a 3 phase connection for electricity and one bore well and one open well for water. The college building has 2 big tanks and 5 separate tanks for hostels.
In the Nimbark Teachers Training College library, more than 28 thousand books are collected where books on Education, Educational Psychology, School Management, Educational Technology, Educational Research, History, Politics, Religion, Ethics, Philosophy, Literature (Sanskrit, Hindi and English), Dictionaries and encyclopedias (Sanskrit, Hindi and English) are available. Many books on the teaching of optional subjects are also collected in the library. In addition to this, special reference books are also available for teaching and research.
Besides this, many manuscripts have been well-preserved in the library. Large number of books on Vedic literature, Jyotish, Vastu, Ayurved and Yoga are available. Under a Book Bank Scheme, every trainee gets a set of 8 text books for study. Keeping in view the importance of qualitative education in teachers training Nimbark Teachers Training College as suggested and emphasized by NCTE, New Delhi, the college glows bright with various facilities like Psychological lab, Science labs (Biology, Chemistry and Physics) Education Technology lab, Language lab, Computer lab and Work Experience workshops. All these labs and workshops are well-equipped with apparatus, equipment, furniture etc. as per the norms of the Board of Secondary Education, Rajasthan, Ajmer, Central Board of Education, New Delhi, University and National Council for Teacher Education, New Delhi.
In Psychological Lab, verbal and non-verbal tests, inventories, Manuals and Equipment are available in sufficient quantity to measure intelligence, personality, attitude, aptitude, achievement performance and creativity. Each of the trainees should have knowledge about 3 tests and is trained to use, analyze and score them properly. The science lab in the Nimbark Teachers Training College in adequately equipped. Students can use the lab for their practical work.
This lab is reasonably equipped with audio-visual aids for effective teaching. The aids include L.C.D., O.H.P., Slide Projector, 16 M.M. Film Projector, Epidiascope, Color T.V., V.C.R/V.C.P Fax Machine, Tape Recorder, Electronic Type Writer, Cam-Coder, Camera, Video Cassettes for guidance, Audio Cassettes on Panini's grammar, and 40 C.D. Set on the speaking and teaching of Sanskrit . This set is produced by National Sanskrit Sansthan, New Delhi.
Besides this, Transparencies as aids for various teaching subjects are available in plentiful quantity. Both teaching staff members and trainees successfully use them during Micro Teaching, Demonstration lessons, Class Room Teaching, Criticism Lesson Examination and Final Practical Examination.
The Nimbark Teachers Training College has a sophisticated ten-booth lab, which has great potential. It enables trainees to develop real communicative competence through plentiful exposures to the skills of listening and speaking. They can easily learn and practice the correct pronunciation of Sanskrit, Hindi and English under the guidance of the expect language teacher. In order to acquaint the trainees with the latest technique of Educational Technology and the application of computer in education, the college has a well equipped computer lab with the following facilities: - 27 Computers, Broad Band Internet Facility, Printers (Laser, Desk Top and Dot Matrix), Scanner, Web Camera, Photo Copier, UPS, Vacuum Cleaner, White Board. The computer lab in adequately equipped, every trainer has to do practice regularly in the lab. In order to prepare effective teachers, the trainees are given opportunities to plan and develop their lessons through the book published and C.D. produced by a world famous processor company like Intel.
College offers Bachelor of Education. Work Experience Workshop of Nimbark Teachers Training College provides necessary equipment, tools etc. to the trainees under training for the purpose of making some low-cost and useful things. By making such things, they can make their teaching not only interesting but also effective. They can use their things during teaching practice and on certain occasions like celebration of days and festivals and annual function. Keeping in view the all round development of the trainees, there is an art and music room with necessary musical instruments including a band for 10 students. They can use the musical instruments for college prayer, Vanshala, Annual Function cultural activities and competitions.
