Rajasthan Technical University-RTU Kota setup in 2005 by Government of Rajasthan to enhance technical education in Rajasthan. The university is situated on Kota-Rawatbhata Road, about 10 Km from Kota Bus Stand and 14 Kms from Kota Railway Station.
The university aims to cater almost all discipline related to technical education in Rajasthan. At present 60 Engineering Colleges, 08 M.Tech Colleges, 21 MCA Colleges, 69 MBA Colleges and 03 Hotel Management and Catering Institute are affiliated to the University.

Rajasthan Technical University-RTU Kota at Kota is a technical university in the state of Rajasthan. RTU Kota came into existence in 2005. The university has been founded by the state government with a mission to promote technical education in the state. The university aims to impart education in almost all disciplines related to technical education in Rajasthan. Presently, several Engineering, MCA, MBA, Hotel Management and Catering Institutes are affiliated to this university.
Rajasthan Technical University-RTU Kota conducts RPET, RMAT and RAMCAAT annually to admit new students in its different academic programs. The university provides cutting edge academic leadership for the growth of technical education in the state fof Rajasthan. The curriculum has been diligently prepared and is regularly updated.
Apart from the technical courses, post graduate programmes in management are also conducted by the Rajasthan Technical University-RTU Kota. Part time courses are run for employed students. For them, classes are run on holidays and evenings. As for admission, students with Rajasthan domicile have to appear in Rajasthan Pre Engineering Test (RPETAP), while the selection of students from other states is based on the merit list of the All India Engineering Entrance Exam (AIEEE). Diploma holders are directly admitted in second year in the UG courses.
The Rajasthan Technical University-RTU Kota is situated on Kota Rawatbhata road abut 10 km from Kota bus stand and 14 kms from Kota railway station. Kota is the education city of rajsthan. Kota is well connected by road and railway. It is situated on the National Highway 12, about 350 km from Jaipur. Kota is situated on Delhi- Mumbai Broad-gauge abut 450 km from Delhi.
The Rajasthan Technical University-RTU Kota College of Engineering has a large library with networking and e-journal facility. It has all the necessary hardware and software. The college has entered into alliances with Microsoft and Oracle. Under these alliances college is receiving almost all the products of both the software and manufacturer.
The entire campus is integrated with a 1 gbps fiber backbone. The total fibre length is 1.5 KM approximately. The total nodes are approximately 600.

Four hostels are available for the boys while one for girls. Other facilities available are canteen, guest house, telephone booth, gymnasium, post office and bank.
