The M C Khalsa College of Education being a minority status institution is authorised to make admissions upto 50% of total intake at its own. Remaining 50% seats are filled through University of Jammu. The admissions are done strictly on merit basis.

The M C Khalsa College of Education draws its name from the Maharani Chand Kour who was brave daughter in law of Maharaja Ranjit Singh and wife of Maharaja Kharak Singh. Maharani spent her last years in Jammu serving the people.Later the school was upgraded to College of Education in the year 1989 for imparting training to the teachers. Since then the college is growing by leaps and bounds in bringing out the best teachers.The college has performed outstandingly through all these years rolling out the record number of positions and distinctions with a pass percentage of over 98% every year.
