Amit Mitra is a politician and economist of India. He was elected as the Minister for Finance & Excise of West Bengal in 2011. Amit Mitra was also elected as the Member of the Legislative Assembly for Khardaha constituency in 2011. He started his political career in 2011 and has also served as the Secretary general of FICCI. Amit Mitra is a member of Trinamool Congress party and was also an academic at Duke University and Franklin & Marshall College. Amit Mitra has been honored with Padma Shree Award.
