Amin Maalouf is a French author. He was born on 25 February 1949 in Beirut, Lebanon. Amin Maalouf is known for his novels Rock of Tanios, The Crusades Through Arab Eyes and Samarkand. He began his writing career with the book The Crusades Through Arab Eyes and has also served as the Director of Lebanese newspaper An-Nahar. Amin Maalouf pursued his studies from Université Saint-Joseph and has been honored with Prince of Asturias Award and Prix Goncourt prize. Some of the books of Amin Maalouf include The First Century after Beatrice, Balthasar's Odyssey and Origins: A Memoir and Ports of Call.
