For the first time in my sewing life of 52 years, I am having trouble with a Bernina. I purchased an 880 with embroidery unit in September of 2014 It ran beautifully for a little while. three months after purchase, I began having trouble with the bobbin. It would click loudly, the thread would not engage, the bobbin case would spin loudly upon opening the little door. The mechanic tuned/timed everything. My machine worked for a while and ended up doing the same thing within two months. This has been happening off and on until a week ago. three years Now, all of these problems have resurfaced with the added problem that the bobbin door will not close automatically and I cannot sew. Frustrating. The mechanic, Sergio, has a special license for servicing the Bernina 880. He tells me, though, he is at a loss. I paid A LOT for this machine My best idea would be to receive a refund. I would be satisfied with a Bernina exchange that is NOT an 880
Thank you in advance,
Mrs. Patricia Ellen Branton.
I was only able to quilt eight quilts using my Bernina Stitch Regulator (BSR) foot. A new foot costs $1, 000 or $500 for a reconditioned one. While I appreciate that Bernina has an honour program that allows me to purchase a refurbished pressure foot at a reduced cost, I fail to see why a Swiss company with a strong reputation for quality products can not make a BSR foot that only works for a year or so. I request a new replacement foot at no cost. Thank you. (613-531-2134).
I purchased a Bernina 830 from a local quilt store and the bobbin was already threaded. This was supposed to be a new machine. They said that they received from Bernina like that. My question is does Bernina send new machines to dealers with threaded bobbins in them?
I appreciate a reply. Thanks
