CSI stands for Church of South India and Madurai – Ramnad Diocese is the ecumenical unit headed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Christopher Asir, is instrumental in conservation of Christian education; who started CSI College of Education – Madurai in Pasumalai and Ramnad, utilizing the wealth of experience (35 years) of Dr. J.P. Gabriel (Rtd) from Department of education, Madurai Kamaraj University and The American College.
The mission of the CSI College of Education – Madurai is to provide education for uplifting Christians and others towards Liberating from illiteracy and obtaining Independent life from the Social Bondage and for Empowering in Socio-Economic growth and in Socializing towards Value based honorable Patriotic Citizenship development. The vision of the CSI College of Education – Madurai is to the rung of a ladder is never meant to rest upon. We help to change your dreams, face your fears and dare to do the impossible in teaching the young minds with a spark to light his spirit and potential. In the capacity building process, we provide activities based teaching – learning in actual life situations.
CSI College of Education – Madurai has necessary buildings, enough furniture and sufficient books in the library. The furnished Reading room with open access to books is under the control of the students. The Science laboratory has teaching learning materials for class teaching and the Special Education laboratory is provided with variety of teaching materials. The CSI College of Education – Madurai shares the canteen of the Institution for refreshment. Our own catering department with this staff and kitchen facilities provides the Mess for the resident students. Students enjoy dividing mess payment.
CSI College of Education – Madurai is part of the Diocese, which is having two General Hospitals such as The Christian Mission Hospital Madurai; it has 64 beds, 14 specializations, and staff strength of 87, inpatient and outpatient departments. The CSI Dental College; it has various departments of specialties with Dental specialists and St. Martin’s Hospital Ramnad at Kilanjunai. A unique Pasumalai Hill provides a picturesque landscape for our CSI College of Education – Madurai and Hostel. The Girl’s Hostel is located in the modernized missionary hostel sharing the upstairs of the school for special children. Premise- Spacious rooms with ambient environment for independent study make an educational environment for our hostellers. They share the food from college of nursing hostel.

The general timetable and rules and regulations of hostel management are done by the college student committee. CSI College of Education – Madurai library follows open access system journals, reference books, collection of rare book are the unique features of our college. M. Phil and PhD students from Madurai Kamaraj University and Alagappa University are given free access to the library for their research work. The museum has stuffed specimen and collection of archives, by missionaries. College offers Bachelor of Education courses with various specializations.
