Dhanabagiyam Krishnaswamy Mudaliar College for Women – DKM College for Women Vellore was established in 1972 under Vellore Vallal N.Krishnaswamy Mudaliar Charitable trust, Vellore, is working from the beginning for Academic excellence, Development of all round personality of the students through co and extra curricular activities, Moulding the students as good citizens of India with social commitments, and Preparing them to face with confidence the challenges of the world. In 1997, the Dhanabagiyam Krishnaswamy Mudaliar College for Women – DKM College for Women Vellore had the silver jubilee celebrations.
In 2002, the institution was accredited by NAAC and is awarded B grade. The College got Autonomy from 01.06.2007. The strength of the institution is the faculty, chosen from the cream of academicians from all over India and the students are from different states of the country. This Dhanabagiyam Krishnaswamy Mudaliar College for Women – DKM College for Women Vellore was selected by the Central Ministry for Youth Affairs and Sports to conduct National Integration camp with financial assistance of Rs.1,15,685/- during the year 2006 – 2007 and conducted the camp successfully during the year 2007 – 2008.
On 13th August 2008, Bomb deduction and social awareness campaign programme was organized to create awareness among the Dhanabagiyam Krishnaswamy Mudaliar College for Women – DKM College for Women Vellore students to handle the crisis. On 23rd August 2008, Tree plantation survey was conducted by cadets to check the growth of trees, its safety and to count how many trees has to be replanted.
